Over time the paint on your vehicle gathers iron, grime, and debris that gets embedded into the clear coat, a small layer that protects your paint. By using a compound it shaves a microscopic layer of the clear coat to buff out the "defects" in the pain leaving a shiny but hazy appearance to the paint. A polisher or the second stage of the process polishes out any haze left over as well as works into minor defects and leaves a sleek shine onto your paint!!!
